Community Engagement
Anti-Bullying Alliance
The Anti-Bullying Alliance is a coalition of organizations and individuals in the UK who stand united against bullying, with their programs and educational initiatives extending well beyond national borders. They work tirelessly to promote a culture of respect and inclusion, focusing on empowering young people, educators, and communities to create safe environments for everyone. Through campaigns, workshops, and resources, the Alliance raises awareness about the impact of bullying and provides practical tools to prevent it. By fostering empathy and understanding, they aim to build a future where kindness prevails and every individual feels valued and supported. Their collaborative efforts coincide with similar movements globally, sparking a wave of positive change and making a significant impact in the fight against bullying.

Since 2023, I have been an advocate for their mission. Every year during Anti-Bullying Week in November, I commit to supporting their cause, deepen my understanding of relevant themes, and engage in a week-long social media campaign to promote awareness about bullying.

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is an afterschool initiative focused on nurturing confidence, building connections, and empowering young girls to recognize their potential and strengths. Volunteer coaches lead sessions that combine physical activity with life skills development, promoting a harmonious balance of social, emotional, and physical well-being. Through engaging lessons and fun workouts, participants learn about teamwork, goal setting, and resilience. Each season culminates in a celebratory 5K event, where girls experience the thrill of accomplishment and the joy of setting and achieving personal goals. This empowering program not only fosters a love for physical activity but also cultivates a supportive community where every girl is valued and encouraged to shine. By participating in Girls on the Run, young girls gain the tools and confidence they need to navigate life's challenges with strength and grace, preparing them to become resilient leaders of tomorrow.
In 2018 and 2019, I had the privilege of supporting and participating in the Girls on the Run (GOTR) program alongside my youngest daughter, as well as many remarkable young girls and their parents. At the conclusion of each season, we came together as a team to complete a celebratory 5K run.

Girls on the Run - Knoxville 5K 2018
My youngest daughter and I proudly celebrated after finishing our first 5K together through our local Girls on the Run program. It was an incredible experience that brought us even closer. As we crossed the finish line hand in hand, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. The event was not just about running; it was about empowerment, resilience, and the bond we strengthened with each step.

My youngest daughter and I preparing for our second 5K together through our local Girls on the Run program. It was such a rewarding experience watching her grow in confidence and determination. We laced up our sneakers and hit the trail with joy and excitement, sharing laughs and encouraging each other along the way. I couldn’t wait to cross that finish line together again.
