Dream "Dark Chocolate Magnesium" Occurred: October 28, 2023
If you know me, you know that I battle a condition where my body produces an overload of histamine causing my entire body to randomly break out with hives. The histamine overload in my body also triggers other allergic responses such as sinus and chest congestion, sneezing, nasal drainage, common cold like symptoms, asthma, itchy eyes, and has the potential to cause anaphylaxis. It is called chronic spontaneous/idiopathic urticaria (chronic hives), meaning it is ongoing with no known cause.
For over twenty years, several doctors and allergists have treated and tried every combination of medicines to help with my condition, but to no avail. I eventually was forced to begin receiving injections monthly of a very strong medication, which was the only thing that has ever given me relief of any kind. However, due to many unforeseen events in my life, I have not been able to receive my injections for over a year now, thus my symptoms and hives have returned.
Last night, just before falling asleep, I had been praying about my health. I have battled symptoms for weeks caused by my condition and it just seems to be getting worse and it has been making me quite miserable. Once I was sound asleep, I had a dream. In this dream, I am not very sure what was really occurring. It was just a normal dream playing out as if I were watching a movie. However, it was suddenly interrupted by a voice which said to me, "Dark Chocolate, Magnesium".
This morning I woke up and prepared my boiling water with essential oils in it, placed a towel over my head, and placed my head over the bowl to inhale the steam. As I sat there, taking in deep breaths to open my airways and ease my congestion, I thought about my dream. So, I began my research via Google on my phone.
I found that dark chocolate, according to Healthline, has a very rich magnesium content. This intrigued me so, I went further in my research to find that magnesium is required to produce diamine oxidase (DAO). DAO is crucial in the regulation of histamine levels in the blood and without it, over time, histamine levels build up creating allergic responses such as hives and other symptoms. Thus, a magnesium deficiency could very well create an environment in the body that would generate uncontrollable hives, such as my condition of chronic hives.
Needless to say, this may be the answer I was seeking. I plan to up my magnesium intake to test this theory and write about my results in a later post.
